The helicopter belonged to Addison based Omniflight helicopters. This Southwest medical evacuation helicopter crashed just before its final approach to a landing zone at Fort bliss. All the 3 crew members on board were killed. The members of the crew include John Sutter the paramedic, William Montgomery the pilot and Anthony Archuleta from El Paso.

The company is still clueless about the cause of the crash. The company officials were working closely with federal investigators to identify the reason of the crash. According to Anthony Dinota, the COO and the President of Omniflight Helicopters, the main focus of the company is to focus on the families of the people who have died in the crash. However, initial investigation reveals that helicopter could have crashed because it caught fire.

The company said that ruled out weather as the possible cause of the crash. The company said that the weather was clear and the pilot had contacted the company’s communication center and military range control officers. The helicopter was equipped with latest equipments like night vision goggles, radar altimeter and satellite navigation.
Federal investigators, including investigators from National Transportation Safety Board were seen at the scene of the accident.
